Phones are primarily designed to be used in portrait orientation.  Why not support the phone in that ideal hands free orientation?  STANND Mode is a portrait mode kickstand feature that orients the phone in a stable working angle ideal for reading, swiping, texting or typing.

The key is to pull the top support fin out from the outside edge and not the top.  Many people who see STANND for the first time want to pull it open from the top. The best way to open is to use your index finger on the side and pull out from the side edge. The top fin will hinge downward and neatly fit into a supporting groove on the base. See diagrams on the back or your backer card provided with your STANND. 

MagSafe is Apple’s magnetic technology designed for easy and secure attachment of accessories like phone chargers, cases, wallets and car mounts.

Apple uses MagSafe technology on iPhone 12s or newer, but you can also get a MagSafe case for virtually any other brand of phone.  There are lots of MagSafe cases for Android phones, Galaxy, Pixel, etc.

For Android or Non Apple brands, or iPhones older than iPhone 12, you will need a MagSafe case or stick on a magnetic adapter ring in order to use STANND. 

For iPhone 12 or newer users, its up to the user.  We think STANND works best and has the strongest connection with a case, but for newer iPhones STANND performs well without a case.

We recommend MagSafe cases that have a circle and vertical alignment tab below.  This tab is an additional magnet embedded in the case, which looks sort of like a lollipop.  The vertical post is an additional magnet that adds connection strength, but mainly adds easy alignment when taking any MagSafe product off and on.

The brands we recommend are actually some of the least expensive, and tend to be a little on the thinner side. We have found the magnetic hold tends to be better with thinner cases.

Some of the MagSafe cases with leather, vinyl or velvet textures may not have a strong enough or satisfactory magnetic hold.

Again, make sure its a MagSafe case and then look for the lollipop looking shape on the back of the case for best magnetic hold.

Magnetic adapter rings are an alternative and less expensive way to adapt your non MagSafe device for use with STANND. This requires sticking an adhesive metal ring directly to your phone or to your existing phone case.  Again, the lollipop shape works best. 

We have tested the ESR brand and it seems to work well.
